Clubmark Accreditation
(England Hockey)

We are pleased to announce that HHC has achieved Clubmark Accreditation

“England Hockey ClubMark is designed to set a minimum operating standard for clubs to achieve and ensure that the appropriate risk assessments, policies and procedures are in place. It is a tool for clubs to check that they have the basics in place.”

What is especially pleasing is when we investigated accreditation we already had all the processes in place and all we had to do was put “pen to paper” (which was a feat in its own right!!” (well done Phil Coghlan who took this project on and drove it through)

We had to demonstrate the following (amongst other things) that we have effective systems for running the club. This includes things such as:

• Having proper plans in place
• Managing our finances effectively
• Maintaining a safe environment with proper welfare protections
• Effective planning of our hockey and the development of our players
• Engaging with our local community and encouraging participation in hockey

Having achieved this, we will now be seen by England Hockey as a very credible partner to work with especially on things such as their new youth talent system, which is a key aim for us going forward.
