Clubmark Accreditation
(England Hockey)

We are pleased to announce that HHC has achieved renewal of our ClubMark Accreditation until January 2028.

England Hockey ClubMark is designed to set a minimum operating standard for clubs to achieve and ensure that the appropriate risk assessments, policies and procedures are in place. Achieving England Hockey ClubMark is an important step in ensuring your club operates to a set of core criteria and has good practices in place to ensure that you can deliver quality hockey in a sustainable and vibrant club environment.

We had to demonstrate the following (amongst other things) that we have effective systems for running the club. This includes things such as:

1. Leadership  – having a robust organisational structure, financial controls and the right level of policies and procedures in place to run a hockey club
2. People  – making sure we offered suitable training (e.g. safeguarding), plus coaching and recruitment guidelines in place
3. Ways to Play – showing the variety and inclusivity of our hockey club across the adult and junior sections
4. Social  – showing how we communicate with our members and the wider community through social media or our club apps
5. Local Community  – engaging with our local community and schools, encouraging participation in hockey
6. Stretching & Developing  – showing how we develop our juniors through into the adult section and development paths for coaches and umpires

Our EH Club Development Manager, who carried out our ClubMark assessment, stated that HHC was one of the best run clubs she had seen and was very impressed at HHC’s ability to deliver such a high standard of hockey, to so many members across the junior and adult sections.
