Haslemere under 10 boys warmed up for their regional final in two week’s time by coming a very respectable runners up in the John wright tournament at Havant this weekend. A Sunny spring morning with a pitch packed with supporters and teams from some of the major clubs including Bath and Reading , this was a real test for our youngsters.
We looked in a confident mood as we easily dispatched Guildford A before coming up against arch rivals Fareham (who we narrowly lost out to in the regionals) Fareham have got an excellent side this year but we outplayed them for the majority of the game and we really should have been well ahead before they equalised our early goal late in the game. We then comfortably beat Winchester Trojans and Bath A and Reading before falling unexpectedly 2-1 to Winchester . We played out winning games against two Havant sides, Chichester and Portsmouth before finding we were deserved runners up. Congrats to Fareham , who are a friendly and sporty bunch and to Havant for organising well done to our squad whos record was P2 W10 D1 L1 GF 37 GA 3
