At the AGM it was announced that Mandy Jackson was to become an Honorary Life Member in recognition for all her marvellous work with the Juniors and organising all our many wonderful volunteers. Sadly she was down in Cornwall at the time of the AGM, so I wrote her a letter to thank her for all her dedication and energy with HHC and I thought you might like to see her response.

"Dear Peter

What a lovely surprise and unexpected letter greeted my return from holiday with news of the Honorary Life Membership of the Club. Thank you and the Board for thinking of me for this award and I'm only sorry not to have been present to receive it. I would have welcomed the cheers in Cornwall as light relief from an overflowing soil tank and broken down car.
Haslemere HC is a delightful Club to be part of and continues to be guided by a professional, friendly, fun loving and supportive band of people - always a magical combination.

I very much enjoyed my ten years volunteering and take enormous pleasure in seeing the Club extend its tentacles into the local community via Flyerz and Mums Hockey. Ness's capable hands are bringing many more skills to the Junior section role and strenthening links within the local schools. Long may all this continue.
In addition my three sons gained more than just the enjoyment of hockey from the Club, gaining life skills on and off the pitch, and retain fond memories of their playing days.

Thank you for the honour of this award from the Clubbable Club. I'll do my best to remain as lively and fit as my new cohort of HLM's."
