Following back to back promotions, Haslemere’s Mens 1s secured themselves in 2023-24 with a solid 7th place finish. Currently playing in South Central Prem 1, which is the highest standard the side have played in a number of years. We are looking to keep growing and continue our progress through the leagues. With a strong team ethos focused on playing the best hockey we can with a keen eye on enjoyment and social aspects of the game as well.
Having played for Haslemere as a junior, Arthur is an extremely proud 1s captain who oversee a group of hardworking sociable players looking to improve themselves everyday. A hard working box-to-box midfielder himself, Arthur is regularly found on a golf course, with a G & T in hand or walking his dog Bill around the Surrey Hills.
With 15+ years of coaching experience and having played (and scored) for all 5 teams in his 10 years as a Haslemere player, our new Head Coach Will is looking forward to an exciting season with the Mens 1s. Will is currently undertaking his England Hockey Advanced Coaching Programme course and brings a wealth of experience to the role.
The Mens 1s are looking to push on during the 2024-25 season and challenge for promotion. We are actively recruiting for players looking to push themselves at this level.
