Ladies 2’s vs Southampton University (Sunday)

With a slow start our ladies went down 1 very early on with a another close call 3 mins later. Southampton were a young fit squad and were controlling the midfield with some great distribution. The Ladies tightened up the defense with Lynn and Megs closing their attackers down and the team settling down to the game. The score was unchanged at half time but the second half saw a rejuvenated motivated team take to the pitch, With some great midfield work from Maddy (the boss) some sterling off the ball running by all and Mel doing some sniping up front the team managed to put 5 past Southampton in the next 35 mins.

Score: 5-1 Win

POM: All of them

Ladies 4’s vs Alton

This was destined to be a tough game and was only made worse when charlotte was off in the first 10 mins with ankle injury With some great individual goals (Fleur!) the team manage to keep up its almost unbeaten record with a draw

Score: 3-3 draw

POM: Fleur for a top of the net reverse stick goal

Juniors

U12 – Girls Vs Alton Tournament

The U12 girls had a tournament against Alton’s U12s (with a boys team thrown in for good measure – all played well and a great day was had by all

Mens

Mens 5’s vs Tadley (Nr Reading somewhere!)

Top of the table clash with Tadley somewhere near reading. This was always going to be a clash of clans. The frost was long gone when the game started and we quickly pressed and put pressure on the defence. Ben was resilient and almost surprised himself when he pushed through for an early goal. The game settled and it was evident there was a game strategy we had to contend with. Big hits at target resulted in goal 2 against us! 1-1 half time.

2nd half saw some impressive drag flick action against us (masks imperative) 2-1. Ben got another goal 2-2… then the oppo pulled away with another drag flick conversion on a short… and then a nice field goal deflection! 4-2.

We grabbed another off a short 4-3 but despite much opportunity we failed to equalise. Awesome game. Special note to Toby who played his first game since school… hope to see more of him!

Score: 4-3 Loss

POM: Toby
