Nicola Denton HHC Deputy Welfare Officer

Nicola Denton

As a Mum of three hockey girls, I am spending an increasing amount of time standing in all weathers watching them play. The enjoyment they get from being on a pitch with their teammates and the outstanding coaching they have received over the years has led me to get more involved with the club.

As a secondary school teacher, I understand the importance of extra-curricular activities for the physical and mental health and well-being of our children. After managing the U8s during the 2023/34 season this year I have joined the welfare team.

By spending just a few evenings’ training on zoom I am now in a position to help give back to the club that has provided my girls with so much. As a player myself I value the camaraderie and team spirit that can only be found running around after a small ball in all weathers with 10 other like-minded people and am looking forward to supporting the coaches and players as Haslemere Hockey Club goes from strength to strength.

Please feel free to come and say hello if you see me around- my number one priority is as many children as possible enjoying their time on the pitch and developing a love of hockey.
