A win against all expectations against Southampton last week has hopefully rekindled the Masters' season. The performance was matched only by Duncan's match report which is reproduced here for your appreciation. Let's hope his words stir all our members, and partiuclarly our Masters to even greater effort this coming weekend.
God's will! I pray thee, wish not one man more.
O, do not wish one more!
That he which hath no stomach to this game,
Let him depart; his passport shall be made,
And crowns for convoy put into his purse;
We would not play in that man's company
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
And gentlemen in Haslemere now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That played with us upon Saint Crispin's day.
I could not have put it better myself.
Against all the odds, Haslemere Masters of 10 men defeated Soton 3-1. A fantastic Team performance who stuck to a plan and played for each other.
If that was not good enough, Mike Cash wins the quote of the day with: I cannot remember the last time I enjoyed a hockey game that much.
