After nigh on twenty seasons as a playing and umpire member of HHC, Kevin Snewing takes his leave of Haslemere this week. All members will want to wish Kevin and his wife well in their new surroundings on Exmoor and thank him for the sterling service that he has provided to our club.

Kevin joined HHC in 1988 as first XI goalkeeper and went on to represent all the men's teams at various times. He became fixture secretary in 1989, a post he combined with that of match secretary for some twelve years before assuming the role of general secretary for a further two.

Stepping down from his club responsibilites, he then took on the role of Hants Open League Sec, a post he will continue with from Exmoor. He is also threatening to blow the whistle for Minehead HC but will continue to take a keen interest in HHC as a committed vice president.

On behalf of the club, I have thanked Kevin for all he has done both on and off the pitch. At a time when we struggle to get anybody to volunteer to do anything, his exemplary service to HHC is a shining example to us all.

The final words go to Kevin:

I shall miss you all, HHC has been a big part of my life for a long time, a time that I can honestly has been thoroughly enjoyable for me if not for all the players I have carded!
