Coach the Coaches – 3rd Nov

As part of our Haslemere Hockey Club coach development programme Lucy Moore from sportengland.org` came down to deliver a England Hockey Coaching session.

Lucy has been doing this for a number of years (she is on most of the videos for children’s coaching) and is a Coach Educator for England Hockey.

We had a great turnout with 19 coaches.

The focus of the morning was to deliver learning games that were fun and that related directly to England Hockey’s Golden Thread.

The session started with fun hockey related warmups then migrated into delivering related games focused on delivering specific objectives.

Feedback is that this was achieved in spades and all the coaches came away extremely motivated and wanting to put their experience into practice.

Ongoing actions

Another Day – As this was so successful we are looking to schedule another day – please register here requesting to be included.
Asst Coaches – We will no longer be “relying” on the lead coaches to produce the sessions – Asst Coaches are going to design and deliver their own sessions.
Resources – We are in the process of putting together a resources area
