Junior Awards 2007-08
Junior prizegiving took place on the 13th April with the major awards being presented last Tuesday (29th April) at the AGM . It was pleasing to see a large representation from all squads on the last day of training and encouraging that several players and parents attended the AGM on Tuesday, 29th April.

With an increasing number of candidates to choose from the coaches had some difficult decisions to make in awarding the medals. A task which is proving more taxing each season. Therefore many congratulations to the following squad medal winners.

ROB DILWORTH (U18 Male Player of the Season)
A.McGREGOR/A.WHEELDON (U18 Most Improved Players)
JAMES HOLLINS (U16 Male Player of the Season)
JAMES DAY (U16 Most Improved Male Player)
ROSIE HAWKINS (U14 Female Player of the Season)
LUCY WOOD (U14 Most Improved Female Player)
CHARLIE WHITWORTH (U14 Male Player of the Season)
RORY CONOLEY (U14 Most Improved Male Player)
SASHA BURNET (U12 Female Player of the Season)
SARAH MAYSON (U12 Most Improved Female Player)
EDWARD WHITWORTH (U12 Male Player of the Season)
CHARLIE DIMOND (U12 Most Improved Male Player)

Well done to our two top goalscorers. Long may they continue netting those goals.

CELIA HALL …awarded… Barrow Hills Cup
CHRIS THOMAS …awarded…. Netbuster Cup

The individual junior player trophies are awarded to those who represent not only a high level of skill but also embody the attitude, commitment and team spirit which makes them stand out within the club. Many congratulations to these award winners.

THERESE O’NEILL ..awarded.. Moodies Cup
MATT GODDEN …awarded… Lloyds Bank Salver

The final junior award goes to the most successful junior team. Shaping a girls team from the many new faces in their first season in existence was always going to be a challenge. One which the new coaches and squad manager rose to with enthusiasm, dedication and resourcefulness. Taking the players through a rapid development programme ensured the girls completed the season second in the league of 11 teams, beating some of Hampshire’s top teams in their first season together. A great tribute to all the players, Tony Richards, Chris Hawkins and Jacquelyne Burnet.

Under 12 GIRLS ..awarded… Chilton Shield

Photos from the AGM are being uploaded onto the website imminently.

The strength in numbers and performance within our thriving junior section speaks for itself. Well done to you the players, our supportive parents and our volunteer coaches. We look forward to seeing you all in September to continue where we left off.

Wishing you an enjoyable summer.

Mini Awards for 2007-08
The prizegiving and last mini tournament on the 16th March was very well attended. Although plagued by an overcast day it did nothing to dampen the spirits of the participants in the mini tournaments organised for various teams to compete for a squad team prize. Continuing the good spirit of the occasion everyone squeezed onto the Edge balcony for the minis prizegiving.

The coaches had some difficult decisions to make in awarding the medals with an increasing number of candidates to choose from. A task which is proving more taxing each season. Therefore many congratulations to the ten winners of the mini awards.

JOEL CANT (U6 Player of the Season)
ALEXANDRA CANT (U6 Most Improved Player)
JACOB HALL (U8 Male Player of the Season)
ANTONIO DI SANTO (U8 Most Improved Male Player)

HHC AGM Tuesday 29 April 2008
This year's AGM is due to take place at the Pavilion, Woolmer Hill on Tuesday 29 April, 7.30pm for 8pm. As some of you may have heard, there are a number of crucial issues that your Board needs to discuss with you.

If you want to be fully updated and, importantly, have your voice heard by the club, please be sure to mark your diaries now and attend on the night. I cannot stress enough that we need ALL members to support the AGM in order to show that this clubbable club cares passionately about its future.

This will be my last AGM as Chairman after four years in the role. I do hope to see you there.
